Phillip Willis asked the County Clerk to relay a message to the commissioners that the Noxious Weed department is spraying the blacktop roadside when the weather permits. They will start on the dirt roads after the blacktops are completed. He also wanted to let the commissioners know that the landfill was inspected by the State last week and everything was good.
Rodney Kelling with the Fire/EMT department came in to express that he would like the door going into the ambulance building to be looked at because it is sagging and dragging. They discussed that it may just need to be pulled up. If that doesn’t fix the issue then paying for someone to fix the issue would be good.
Rodney informed the commissioners that three new firemen were hired and will be working for the Moscow department. This puts the total fire employees at Moscow back up to ten (10) and eighteen (18) in Hugoton.
The commissioners signed Resolution 18-12, Conditional Use Permit for BRT Group, LLC.
Robert Lucero with maintenance reported to the commissioners that he worked with the HVAC system while Knipp was down inspecting it. Joe informed Robert that everywhere on the courthouse lawn that did not have a sprinkler system will be concreted and that two (2) places at the sheriff’s office will be concreted as well. Robert asked that some dirt be brought in to plant grass where the tree stump was as well as some other low spots where he has to reseed.
Landmark was called by Joe and Terry with Landmark informed the commissioners that the oil and gas as well as the real estate has went up some. It is looking better than last year on valuations. Amy Tharp informed the commissioners she is waiting on the state reports to finish her valuation figures.
Jim Bell and Steve Lewis came in to discuss the museum. They asked the commissioners if there would be enough in the building fund to get some help paying for grouting and painting the outside of the museum. Steve said the grout is starting to fall out and needs to get fixed before it gets worse. Jim and Steve told the commissioners that they had called several people for bids on the repair but only one (1) person answered. Pat said he will call a few other people and see what they would charge for the work. If no other bids come in then they will go with Randy’s Professional Painting, LLC to do the repairs and paint the signs.
Sheriff Ted Heaton appeared and the commissioners told him of the two (2) places at the sheriff’s office grounds that will be concreted over. Ted agreed with their decision and said he had nothing to report at this time.
By motion the Board adjourned.
