Department Responsibilities

The Treasurer’s Office serves as both a local county office and an agent for the State of Kansas. Our responsibilities include:

  • Collecting property taxes for real estate, personal property, businesses, and other taxable entities
  • Distributing tax revenues to local taxing entities including schools, cities, and other districts
  • Managing county funds and investments with a focus on safety, liquidity, and responsible returns
  • Processing motor vehicle titles, registrations, renewals, and related transactions
  • Driver’s license renewals and driver's ed permits
  • Selling Kansas hunting and fishing licenses
