2024 Presidential Preference Primary Candidates
Election Information:
2024 PRESIDENTIAL PREFERENCE PRIMARY ELECTION – MARCH 19, 2024
Voting registration for new Kansas registrants and those who are registered but moved, is February 20, 2024. If you choose to change your party you must do so no later than February 20, 2024. If you are unaffiliated, you must affiliate with a party in order to vote at the Presidential Preference Primary Election. You may register to vote or change your party online at https://www.kdor.ks.gov/apps/voterreg/, request a voter registration form from the Stevens County Clerk’s office or go to the Stevens County Clerk’s office and pick up a registration form. To view a sample ballot or to see if you are a registered voter, you can go to https://myvoteinfo.voteks.org/VoterView or contact your county clerk’s office.
Voting times and places:
Advanced (in person) Voting: Stevens County Clerk’s Office located at 200 E. 6th Street, Hugoton, Kansas. Beginning February 28, 2024, from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Mail Ballot Voting: Must request an advance mail ballot application no later than February 20, 2024.
Mobile Vote: Hugoton Pioneer Manor located at 1711 S Main, Hugoton Kansas for the pioneer residents and staff. This will be on March 6th, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
Election Day: For registered voters residing in Banner, Center 1, Center 2, Harmony, Hugoton 1, Hugoton 2, Hugoton 3, Pioneer, Voorhees, and West Center the voting location is located at the Memorial Hall at 200 E. 6th St, Hugoton, Kansas. Beginning March 19, 2024, from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.
For registered voters residing in Moscow 1, Moscow 2, and Moscow 3 will vote at the Moscow Christian Fellowship Church, located at 304 Main, Moscow, Kansas.
According to KSA 25-3009, we will now be conducting post-election audits.
The post-election audit will be held in the Commissioner’s Conference room located at 200 E. 6th Street, Hugoton, KS. The selection of races and precincts for the audit will be held in the County Clerk’s office.
Make sure your photo I.D. is current and up to date.

County Election Department Responsibilities
- Voter registration site
- Maintain registration database
- Verify registration validity
- Generate registration list and reports
- Accept filings for public office
- Prepare newspaper publications for elections
- Assist with selection of election board workers
- Prepare ballots
- Make available advanced voting for voters
- Prepare results and provisional ballots for County Board of Canvassers
- Certify election results to the public and Secretary of State State
- Prepare Certificate of Nomination and Certificate of Election forms
- Record all election results in permanent record
