Noxious Weed Department
The Stevens County Noxious Weed Department is responsible for identifying and controlling noxious weeds throughout the county, as required by the Kansas Noxious Weed Law. The County Weed Director assists the landowners by selling at a cost share, chemicals to control noxious weeds.

Stevens County Landfill
The Stevens County, Kansas Municipal Solid Waste Landfill is considered a small arid landfill located in Stevens County, Kansas just northeast of Hugoton. The facility accepts municipal solid waste, white goods(appliances), scrap metal, tires and brush. The municipal solid waste is disposed of in pre-approved waste cells to be buried.
White goods, scrap metal, and waste tires are stored in designated locations and removed from the site to be recycled at various times of the year. Brush is also piled in designated locations to be recycled or burned as necessary.
Hazardous, Commercial, Industrial, Special, or Liquid Waste is not accepted at the Stevens County Landfill. Screening practices are in place to prevent the disposal of this type of waste.
